I have never been drawn to photographs that feel overly arranged. The images I care about most are usually the ones no one planned: a look across the room, a hand on a shoulder, a laugh that breaks the tension.
My approach is simple. I keep things calm, watch what is happening and stay out of the way as much as possible. Whether it is a wedding or an event, I want people to feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
When there is no client brief, the camera still comes along: wildlife on the Scottish coast, foxes in the dunes and cities between flights. That work lives in the Journal.
